Arts-Based Methods

As methodologists, we are passionate about using the right data to answer meaningful questions. We use a variety of tools (not just surveys) to collect data. Using arts-based methods (i.e., a facilitated art-making activity paired with a qualitative interview or focus group) works well to:

​Understand complex beliefs, values, or assumptions

Explore experiences and perceptions that don't fit into scales or check-boxes

Honour self-expression and diverse forms of wisdom

Infuse joy, play, and catharsis into projects
